STAC Performance Summit - 4 June 2009

Over 100 industry experts gathered at JP Morgan Chase for this Summit. Tech pioneer Andy Bechtolsheim detailed the latest low-latency switch technology from Arista Networks. AMQP guru Carl Trieloff presented Red Hat's view of where the AMQP messaging standard is headed. And several end-user practitioners (Chetan Roy of Deutsche, Gursel Taskale of Liquidnet, Rick Alm of Wachovia, Bijan Treister of Pipeline), along with Falke Bruinsma from IBM, exchanged views on modern data distribution challenges, the most promising technical solutions, and the prospect for standards. STAC wrapped up with an update on the STAC-M2 and STAC-E2 Benchmark specifications for messaging. The group then continued the conversation--in typically boisterous fashion--in an extended networking session facilitated by a well-appointed open bar at Connolly's.
