NOTE: STAC Reports vs STAC Benchmarks

If an item has the STAC Report logo, it means that STAC has issued the report.
If an item also has the Council logo, then the report is based on official benchmark specifications approved by the STAC Benchmark Council (i.e., actual STAC Benchmarks).

STAC Report: Near Real-Time Position & Risk Management for a Large Set of Positions (GemFire 6.3 on HP blades)

STAC tested a system constructed by HP and Gemstone to demonstrate the benefits of a “data aware” data-grid architecture. The use case was position keeping on a set of equity options. The primary objective of the project was to subject the system to a realistic workload and compare the response times for end-user position requests when the system was configured two ways:

1. A traditional data grid, in which position calculations are performed on the compute-grid nodes

2. A configuration exploiting new GemFire features that enable calculations to be performed within the data grid.
