NOTE: STAC Reports vs STAC Benchmarks
![]() |
If an item has the STAC Report logo, it means that STAC has issued the report. | ![]() |
If an item also has the Council logo, then the report is based on official benchmark specifications approved by the STAC Benchmark Council (i.e., actual STAC Benchmarks). |
STAC-M3 Report: Kx Systems kdb+ on Oracle Sun Fire X4540
First-ever tick database benchmark that uses community-developed testing standards.
STAC Report: Near Real-Time Position & Risk Management for a Large Set of Positions (GemFire 6.3 on HP blades)
HP and Gemstone show 76x improvement in response times by using "process and data affinity" within a data grid
STAC Report: Near Real-Time Position & Risk Management for a Large Set of Positions (GemFire 6.3 on HP blades)
STAC tested a system constructed by HP and Gemstone to demonstrate the benefits of a “data aware” data-grid architecture. The use case was position keeping on a set of equity options. The primary objective of the project was to subject the system to a realistic workload and compare the response times for end-user position requests when the system was configured two ways:
1. A traditional data grid, in which position calculations are performed on the compute-grid nodes
2. A configuration exploiting new GemFire features that enable calculations to be performed within the data grid.
STAC-M3 Report: kdb+ 2.6, Oracle Sun Fire X4540, OEL 5.4, ext3 (SUT: KDB100615)

STAC Report for:
- Kx Systems Kdb+ 2.6
- Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.4 with ext3
- AMD Opteron 2356, quad core, 2.3 GHz
- Oracle Sun Fire X4540 with 32 GB RAM
- Multiple SCSI disks / RAID 5
Tested against STAC-M3 v0.93 specs.
STAC-M2 Report: Informatica (29West) LBM with Cisco Catalyst 4900M 10GigE and Solarflare/OpenOnload
Audited STAC-M2 Benchmark of LBM on a Cisco Catalyst 4900M switch, using Cisco UCS servers and Solarflare SFN5122F NICs with OpenOnload
