STAC® improves technology discovery and assessment in the finance industry through dialog and research. The STAC Benchmark™ Council, a group of leading financial firms and technology vendors, gathers at large STAC Summits™ and in small groups to discuss key technical challenges and solutions. A STAC Test Harness™ is software that enables the execution of STAC Benchmarks. A STAC Pack™ is software that enables a given STAC Test Harness to conduct tests of a specific product (depending on the benchmark, this might be a particular database, a particular processor, etc.). Each STAC Test Harness embodies the industry’s best practices in four areas: workload generation, scenario configuration, measurement, and analysis & reporting.
STAC Report Highlights provide some insight into the performance of the stack that was tested, but there’s more to the story. The full STAC Report for a STAC-M2 v1.0 Benchmark contains additional information, including:
1) Results from additional test cases: - Tests where the Consumer API is required to parse each message rather than treating it as an opaque buffer - Tests with three distinct types of slow consumers - Tests where one or a group of clients restarts during message flow (if the system supports caching) - Tests with two Producers, not just one
