STAC Report: kdb+ v3.1 and Kove under STAC-M3

New records for mean latency (response time) in 15 of 17 benchmarks. Some of them 4x to 8x better than the previous records.

STAC has released a STAC Report covering baseline STAC-M3 Benchmarks of Kx Systems kdb+ 3.1 tick database running with Kove XPD L2 storage on Dell servers with Mellanox InfiniBand.

This configuration set new records for mean latency (response time) in 15 of the 17 benchmarks in the baseline STAC-M3 suite, including some results that were 4 to 8 times better than the previous records.

The stack under test (SUT ID: KDB130603) consisted of:

* Kx Systems kdb+ 3.1 with an updated STAC-M3 Pack for kdb+
* CentOS Release 6.3 with ext4
* Dell PowerEdge™ R910 server
* Intel Xeon X7560 Processors
* Kove® XPD™ L2 Storage System with Mellanox QDR Infiniband
* Mellanox MT26428 ConnectX^®-2 QDR HCA and MTS3600 InfiniScale-IV QDR switch
