STAC Report: eXtremeDB Financial Edition 6.0 on Lucera Compute™ (16 Core SSD v2, SmartOS) under STAC-M3

Cloud-based solution sets 5 of 17 response-time records.

19 November 2014 - New York

STAC has released a STAC Report covering audited baseline STAC-M3 Benchmarks of McObject's eXtremeDB Financial Edition 6.0 on a cloud computing platform from Lucera. These are the first STAC Benchmark results on a cloud architecture.

The database in these tests was eXtremeDB Financial Edition 6.0 from McObject. The test clients were written in Python, and most of the benchmark operations were written in SQL. The database was distributed across dozens of shards on multiple server systems, and clients communicated with database servers via TCP. The infrastructure consisted of four instances of the Lucera Compute™, 16 Core SSD v2, SmartOS product.

This solution stack set new records in 5 of 17 mean response-time benchmarks. Compared to systems involving databases other than eXtremeDB, this system demonstrated over 3x the performance of the previously published best result (SUT ID: KDB131007) in the 50T.STATS-UI benchmark, over 2x the performance of the previously published best result (SUT ID: KDB130603) in the 100T.STATS-UI benchmark, and over 2x the performance of the previously published best result (SUT ID: KDB131007) in the 1T.NBBO benchmark.

Qualified members of the STAC Benchmark Council can also access the configuration details for the stack that was tested, at the link above.
