James Beeken, Cisco Sales Specialist, Cisco.
James is a Sales Specialist at Cisco with a focus on the Nexus 3550 product line. He has spent his career specializing in providing technology to the global financial market. His previous experience includes Metamako, Fixnetix, Colt, and BTRadianz.

Shimon Ben-David, CTO, Weka.
As WekaIO’s CTO, Shimon actively engages with customers and partners to track emerging trends and to bring actionable feedback to Engineering and Product Management. In his near 8 years at Weka, he has had leadership roles in both Support and Sales Engineering. Prior to joining Weka he ran Support Services for Primary Data, XtremIO, and IBM. Shimon met the leadership team of WekaIO when he managed IT at XIV, acquired by IBM in 2007. Shimon studied Computer Science and Philosophy at Ramat Gan University.

David Cohen, Senior Principal Engineer, Intel.
Dave is a Senior Principal Engineer and Storage Solutions CTO for the Data Center Solutions Group (DSG), a unit within Intel’s Data Center Group. He focuses on designing solutions that exploit Intel’s 3D-Xpoint Memory technology to its fullest while taking advantage of centrally-managed software in order to operate large-scale, distributed systems. Prior to Intel, David was a Director in the Office of the CTO at EMC where he lead efforts related to integrating storage systems with network virtualization. David also has a long-history of working on building distributed systems in industry, most recently working for the investment banks: Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. An experienced practitioner, Dave's active connections to commercial and academic research and development labs insure Intel’s Storage Solutions are both well-grounded and cutting-edge. An acknowledged industry expert in system architecture and development, Dave is a sought after speaker and published author.

James Coomer, Sr. Vice President Products, DDN.
James is responsible for the technology direction, roadmap and performance analysis of DDN solutions. One of his main tasks is engaging with, and understanding the issues of organizations that are exploring the extremes of IO performance across the range of industries from Life Sciences through to Finance with use cases from Cloud, Enterprise Big Data though to HPC. James’ career started with a PhD in Theoretical Physics followed by over 10 years at Sun Microsystems and Dell, in a wide range of roles from L3 support through consultancy, training, installation and pre-sales. James turned to focus on IO and storage in a move to DDN in 2011.

Matthew Cretney, Head of Product Management, Beeks Group.
An experienced technologist with two decades of working in FinTech, infrastructure and network analytics, with most of those years spent with Reuters/Refinitiv. At Thomson Reuters he was the technical product lead for Refinitiv’s SaaS multi-tenant white-labelled FX eTrading capability and oversaw the development of Refinitiv’s FX Spot and Forwards Matching services. At Beeks, Matt heads up Product Management where the focus is on bringing cloud agility to the financial markets and improving business visibility of their underlying infrastructure performance.

Jeff Denworth, Co-Founder and CMO, VAST Data.
Jeff has over a decade of experience with big data and cloud storage technologies. Prior to VAST, Jeff served as VP of marketing at DataDirect Networks, where he oversaw marketing, business, and corporate development during a time of rapid sales growth. Before that, he helped bring the now-popular Lustre file system to market at Cluster File Systems.

Asaf Ezra, CEO, Granulate.
Talpiot program alum, Asaf continued his IDF service as a commander in the elite 8200 intelligence unit. He previously held positions as R&D Team Leader and Project Manager where he led 30+ researchers, engineers and analysts in large-scale projects. Co-founding Granulate, he hopes to democratize performance and build a world without performance loss.

Bishwa Roop Ganguly, Chief Solutions Architect, Bigstream.
Bishwa Roop Ganguly is Chief Solutions Architect at Bigstream Solutions. He has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and an MS and BS in Computer Science from University of Illinois and University of California at Berkeley, respectively. He has published extensively in the field of parallel processing and computer networks. He also has 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist using Hadoop, Spark and SQL. He currently manages customer and partner engagements at Bigstream.

Francisco Girela López, Americas Tech Responsible, Seven Solutions.
Francisco is the Americas Tech Responsible at Seven Solutions. He holds a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Granada. After some time in the private sector, Francisco joined the Timing Keepers group at the same university as a researcher. During his research, he specialized in ultra-accurate time transfer systems and he focused on the development of the White Rabbit technology. At the moment, he combines his work for Seven Solutions with his studies for a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering. This combination has provided Francisco with a strong technical background on High Accuracy time synchronization and deep knowledge on timing applications in industrial sectors.

Michael Gorbovitski, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley.
Michael has been in the technologically fast-paced and ultra-low-latency business of Automated Options Market Making for the last decade. Before that, he was a founder of several startups in the biotech and bioinformatics sectors, while also maintaining advisory board positions in medical AI and remote learning startups. He got his PhD in Computer Science in 2010 in New York, Stony Brook, with multiple papers published in the fields of Computer Science as well as Biotechnology, as well as several patents. He is a practicing member of the ACM.

Gary Gumanow, Technical Sales Specialist – NA Channel Ethernet Adapters, Intel Corporation.
At Intel, Gary has held various positions including product planning and product management bringing to market over 40 Ethernet products, and holds three patents in networking. Prior to Intel, he was responsible for IT on a Wall Street Foreign Exchange, MBS, Muni, and Derivatives trading floor, and Managing Director of a Fund Management company in Europe. Gary left Intel for an Ethernet startup, then stints at Dell and HPE doing Ethernet and Storage planning and strategy roles. Gary came back to Intel five years ago.

Andrew Hillier, Co-founder & CTO, Densify.
Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the creation and implementation of mission-critical cloud applications for the world's largest enterprises. As CTO and co-founder of Densify™, he heads product strategy and leads the creation of sophisticated workload pattern analysis and machine learning technology that underpins the Densify™ solution. Hillier holds 10 patents in this field and is a noted thought leader and speaker in the area of cloud and container technologies.

Jeffrey Hirsch, Head of Technology, Morningstar DNA (Data and Analytics), Morningstar, Inc.
Jeffrey is responsible for creation and execution of the product and technology vision of Morningstar’s next generation data and analytics platform. He leads a global team of architects and engineers whose key objective is to empower Morningstar’s researchers, behavior scientists and product groups in data discovery, model development, insight generation, and seamless productization of research. He is also a founding member of Morningstar’s employee resource group “Morningstar Allies”, whose mission is to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion by highlighting implicit bias in the workplace and driving dialogue to eliminate it.

Suds Jain, Product Management Director Cloud Platform, VMware.
Product Management, Cloud Platform Sudhanshu (Suds) leads vSphere Cloud Platform product management for the server platforms, network and storage interconnect and solutions. He is also responsible for vSphere’s virtual devices, virtual platform and core stack functionalities. In addition to that, Suds also drive deep technology collaboration and agenda for VMware within the industry. Prior to joining VMware, Suds was Director of Product Management at Alcatel-Lucent where he was leading the distributed datacenter fabric and access-router portfolio in telco space.

Brian Kelly CEO & Founder, CloudGenera.
Brian is responsible for the day-to-day operations and business strategy, as well as leading the company’s product vision. He is a prior technology start-up founder, inventor and US patent holder. Brian has spent the entirety of his technology career helping companies discover, validate and adopt disruptive technologies and technology operating models. He is a 15-year software and hardware industry veteran, most recently at VMware where he ran business strategy for VMware's Eastern United States region. Prior to VMware, Brian held a variety of sales, strategy and principal technologist roles at BEA Systems. He started his career in business consulting at Compuware Corporation and received his degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Ilya Kudryavtsev, Network Lead, Avelacom.
Ilya has been with the company for more than 10 years. He held various positions including project and network design engineering, providing low latency fiber and radio frequency solutions across European, Asian and US Capital Market ecosystems. Since 2018 Ilya has been involved in setting up new cloud-based trading venues for cryptocurrency market makers, arbitrage traders, liquidity aggregation platforms and other latency-sensitive clients.

Peter Lankford, Founder and Executive Chairman, Securities Technology Analysis Center.
Peter leads STAC®, which provides hands-on technology research and testing tools to the finance industry and facilitates the STAC Benchmark Council™, a group of leading financial institutions and vendors that engages in technical dialog and specifies standard ways to assess technologies used in finance. Prior to STAC, Peter was SVP of the $240M market data technology business at Reuters. Prior to Reuters, Peter held management positions at Citibank, First Chicago Corp., and operating-system maker IGC. Peter has an MBA, Masters in International Relations, and Bachelors in Chemistry from the University of Chicago.

Ian Lester, Vice President, Nomura.
Ian is the technical lead of the AI Labs Data Lake within the E-Trading Strategy and Wholesale Digital Offices groups at Nomura. His role involves the design, architecture, and development of a robust and scalable ETL pipeline and data access layer. The platform uses kdb+ and python in AWS to provides access to Rates and FX data. Ian has over 10 years’ experience in the industry having previously worked for Kx, Morgan Stanley, and JP Morgan.

John Lockwood, CEO, Algo-Logic Systems.
John is the founder and CEO of Algo-Logic and has over 30 years of experience of mapping algorithms into FPGA logic. He served as a Professor at Stanford University, was tenured at Washington University in Saint Louis, and holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. John has engineered high-speed networks for the National Center for Supercomputing Appilcations (NCSA), designed high-speed datalink controllers at IBM, deployed multicast networks at AT&T Bell Laboratories, and served as the PI on grants from NSF, Xilinx, Altera, and SAIC. He has published over 100 papers and patents related to networks and FPGA applications.

Jeff Luszcz, Director of Open source, PEAK6.
Jeff is the Director of Open Source at PEAK6. Previously he was the Founder and CTO of Palamida, one of the first open source discovery and vulnerability management tools. He has helped hundreds of software companies understand how to best use open source while complying with their license obligations and keeping on top of security issues. He has directed professional services teams responsible for open source compliance and security audits. His teams have performed reviews for some of the largest mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry. He consults with companies on the topics of compliance, remediation, and security.

Ashish Majmundar, Director, Global Head of Capital Markets, Google Cloud.
In his role at Google Cloud, Ashish works with strategic customers, partners, and Google Cloud’s engineering teams to create industry solutions for financial services institutions. Ashish brings deep capital markets experience with a strong technology background. He previously served as the Cloud CTO for Wells Fargo where he was responsible for overall cloud strategy, roadmap, and delivery. He has over two decades of experience with major Wall Street firms and has served in numerous leadership roles such as CTO and Chief Development Officer of JP Morgan, India, and Managing Director, Chief Architect for Derivatives Technology at DTCC.

Keith Manthey, Global CTO, UDS, Dell Technologies.
Keith is the Global CTO for the Unstructured Division of Dell Technologies, which has hardware and software solutions like Isilon/PowerScale, ECS/ObjectScale, DataIQ, and Streaming Data Platform (SDP). In addition to leading the CTO team, Keith specializes in AI, distributed analytics, and high performance computing in Industry. He brings more than 25+ years of experience in high-performance computing & distributed analytics from working in Capital Markets, Financial Services, and Identity Fraud. Keith holds more than 7 patents around distributed computing and graph analytics technology. Keith is an advisory board member of the University of Georgia’s Management of Information Systems School.

Raghunandan Mathur, Senior Systems Engineer, NEC Corporation.
Raghunandan is a technical specialist for NEC SX-Aurora TSUBASA or Vector Engine accelerator. He specializes in performance optimization on vector architectures for various industrial and scientific applications. He is currently involved in establishing performance advantage of NEC’s vector architecture for workloads relevant to the finance industry.

Luigi Mercone, Former Managing Director, Advanced Digital Solutions, BNY Mellon.
Luigi has driven high-performance technology from strategy, architecture, and engineering roles across domains as disparate as Equity trading, global macro hedge funds, major enterprise software vendors, wealth management and UHNW family offices. Most recently he was Managing Director of Advanced Digital Solutions at BNY Mellon. Before that held senior technology roles at Credit Suisse, Bridgewater Associates, and Symantec. Luigi holds a dual BA in comparative religion and psychology from the Swarthmore College.

Sambit Mishra, Head of Low Latency DMA Platforms, Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET), Goldman Sachs.
Sambit has worked in fintech since 2006, with a primary concentration in FPGAs and Ultra-Low Latency trading platforms. He began his career at Aegis Software (sold to Thomson Reuters), subsequently founded a fintech startup, and worked extensively in the buy-side, including as a partner at Allston Trading, before joining Goldman Sachs. Sambit received an MS in Computer Engineering in 2005 from NYU Polytechnic (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering), and has works cited by NIST, and presented at hardware design workshops organized by IEEE, ACM and IFIP.

Bruce Moxon, Sr. HPC Architect, Microsoft Corporation.
As an HPC Architect in Azure Global, Bruce works with customers and solution architects in realizing the transformative value of the Cloud on existing and emerging HPC applications. He is currently working on realtime risk analytics applications, and has developed big data / big compute solutions in Finance, Life Sciences, Digital Effects and Earth Sciences, with recognized expertise in high-performance storage and database architectures.

Peter Nabicht, President, Securities Technology Analysis Center.
Peter has spent his career implementing technological solutions to complex business problems. At STAC, Peter's mission is to leverage his market and technology experience to guide the continued rapid growth of the STAC community. Prior to STAC, Peter spent 10 years at Allston Trading, developing and supporting multi-asset class, low latency trading systems. His roles included Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development. Peter co-founded 12Sided Technology, which developed high throughput network data capture and analytics. Most recently, he was Head of Electronic Markets Strategy and Development at Dealerweb. Peter has a BA in English and a MS in Computer Science from Loyola University Chicago.

Geoff Newell, Technical Director, Appsbroker.
Geoff started the journey to Cloud 10 years ago when Cloud was seen as something which threatened the status quo for legacy IT. It’s been a transformational experience to see Enterprises adopting Cloud technology, in particular Google Cloud as a necessity for their future success and competitiveness. Geoff has worked with some major global organisations such as Boeing, Barclays, Vodafone, HSBC and Lloyds Banking Group. Geoff has pioneered the way in Google HPC and Application Modernisation with Anthos and was integral to the HPC pricing grid for HSBC and the Mifid II application for a consortium of major banks.

Jeffrey Ryan, Quant at Large and R contributor (e.g. quantmod and xts).
Jeff spent the last two decades working in quantitative finance. Over the years he has built some of the most widely recognized open-source quantitative software in the industry - adopted by most major banks and hedge funds around the world. He co-founded R/Finance in Chicago in 2009, now one of the longest running applied quant events of its kind. Jeff has worked with many quantitative hedge funds and proprietary trading firms, recently exiting a six year tenure at Citadel, where he helped build a large quantitative equity desk. Hamid Salehi, Director of Product Marketing, FinTech & Blockchain, Xilinx.
Hamid leads the product marketing team for Fintech & Blockchain at Xilinx. In his role, Hamid oversees marketing, product development and strategy. Prior to his current role, Hamid founded a startup in the IOT space, and worked at Marvell Semiconductor, Broadcom, T-Mobile, and Radio Frequency Systems (Alcatel-Lucent) in various roles, including product management, business development, analytics, and finance. Hamid received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of waterloo and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Vahan Sardaryan, Co-Founder and CEO, LDA Technologies.
Vahan is a Co-Founder and the CEO at LDA Technologies, a known provider of leading high-performance FPGA-based networking products. Vahan’s experience in software design goes back 20 years and encompasses various fields such as high-performance networking, information security, realtime systems and such. He has been involved in electronic trading industry for over 12 years, 8 years of which was dedicated to HFT companies’ needs. Vahan holds a PhD degree equivalent in Applied Mathematics and is an avid chess player.

Mike Schonberg, Director Market Data Technology, Quincy Data.
Michael is a seasoned engineer with over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. He shows great enthusiasm for finding cutting edge and elegant solutions to difficult problems. For the past 19 years he focused on providing low latency, high performance solutions for hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, and large financial institutions. He currently co runs the technology group at Quincy Data and McKay Brothers. Mike has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the QED market data distribution platform. And currently oversees a variety of technology projects including market data distribution, and custom low latency network endpoint devices.

Nikhil Singhvi, Managing Director of Core Trading Technology, Credit Suisse.
Nikhil is Managing Director responsible for Core Trading Technology at Credit Suisse that includes multi-asset Electronic Client Connectivity, Low Latency Market Data, Trading Analytics, Trading Controls, Execution Links, Client Trading portal and Regulatory Reporting. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2010, Nikhil held various Technology management positions covering Front Office Trading, Electronic Trading, Trade Management, Operations, Risk and Finance and has worked across Asia Pacific, Europe and USA. He holds CFA Charter from CFA Institute USA and is a graduate of National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Dr David Snowdon, Director, Engineering, Arista.
David is currently Director of Engineering at Arista Networks. He was co-founder and CTO at Metamako, which got acquired by Arista in 2018. Prior to founding Metamako, David gained a wealth of experience working in and for electronic trading firms, optimising their network structures, network performance, and building performance hardware, gateware and software. He has a PhD in Operating Systems from the University of NSW, Australia, looking at the effect of frequency scaling on power and energy usage. Outside of work, David spends time designing, building and racing high-performance solar powered cars in international events and formerly held the Guinness record for the world’s fastest solar powered vehicle.

Alex Stein, Global Head Business Development, Liquid-Markets-Holdings.
Alex is a serial entrepreneur having cofounded and led four startups including FarSight Financial Services, the first Internet brokerage and Gomez, Inc, the leading Internet Performance Management company. Alex was a Managing Director at Two Sigma; while he was there he built the firm’s global Alpha Capture program, which applies quantitative research to identify and extract investment signals in real time from a global network of investment professionals. He also co-led the Client Solutions platform, Venn, and explored emerging technologies, including blockchain and distributed ledger systems. Earlier in his career, he worked at Digital Equipment's VLSI facility in the Advanced Development group. Stein received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (1991) and both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Dartmouth College.

Vasily Strela, Global Head of FICC Quantitative Strategies, RBC Capital Markets.
Vasily Strela is a Managing Director and Global Head of FICC Quantitative Strategies at RBC Capital Markets. He and his group are responsible for development and implementation of risk neutral and statistical models for all parts of Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities business. Before joining RBC, Vasily was Global Head of Market Modeling Group at Morgan Stanley. Vasily is affiliated with MIT Mathematics Department where he developed and is co-teaching a class on Topics in Mathematics with Applications in Finance. Vasily holds a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from MIT and an M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

Phil Vachon, Security Architect, Office of the CTO, Bloomberg.
Phil Vachon manages the Security Analytics and Identity Architecture team in the Office of the CTO at Bloomberg. He leads a team of engineers working on problems around network and infrastructure security, human and machine identity management, and data science as applied to information security problems.

Bill Webb, Director, Ethernet Switching, NVIDIA Networking.
Bill is responsible for Ethernet switching for the Americas at NVIDIA Networking. In this role, he works with customers and partners to leverage the benefits of the NVIDIA Ethernet switching portfolio, including performance advantages for trading, storage, AI, and cloud. Bill has spent over 20 years in the networking industry in a variety of sales, engineering, and management roles at Mellanox, Ciena, Nortel, and start-ups.

Dave Weber, Wall Street CTO & Director, Lenovo.
Dave is the director of Lenovo's financial services industry technology initiatives and global FSI CTO. Dave is based in NYC and focused on low latency, high performance and emerging technologies, as well as on-prem cloud and AI/ML initiatives. He works with financial markets clients to provide solutions, and with partners to build an ecosystem, as well as with Lenovo Research and Development to influence future products. Dave also leads the Lenovo relationship with STAC®, where Lenovo has worked closely with our partners to publish numerous world record benchmark results.

Ellis Wilson, Software Architect, Panasas.
Ellis serves as lead architect of the Object Storage Device (OSD) team, which focuses on the research, design, and development of enterprise-class storage nodes within PanFS. In the most recent product, ActiveStor Ultra, his team developed an OSD software stack capable of leveraging five tiers of memory and storage media (DRAM, NV-DIMM, NVMe SSD, SATA SSD, HDD) in a purposeful, performant, and transparent fashion. Ellis has been at Panasas since 2011, having joined first as an intern working with co-founder Garth Gibson while he finished his Ph.D. thesis titled: “A Protean Attack on the Compute-Storage Gap in High-Performance Computing.”

Glenn Wright, Systems Architect, KX.
Glenn has over 30 years of technical experience in the high-performance computing industry, working on server, networking and storage elements of extreme performance solutions. At Kx, Glenn is a senior systems architect, where he advises kdb+ customers on new offerings from system vendors and public cloud vendors. Renown for high performance data analytics, Kx continues to promote technology helping with higher performance or availability metrics for kdb+ based market data solutions. Glenn has led the Kx Systems relationship with STAC for the past 4 years, during which time Kx have continued to innovate on new systems technology, resulting in many STAC benchmark improvements for kdb+, over that period.
